Here at Entomo farms they harvest 50 million crickets a week and turn them into protein packed foods. Crickets contain more protein than beef and are being heralded as “the food of the future”. We visited their Canada based production facility to see how they turn crickets from bugs to brunch.

  • Here in South Africa not many people will eat insects either, but there are those who eat what the Afrikaans people call 'rysmiere' or 'rice ants' in English. These are the winged alates of the harvester termite. I have not only tried them, but have sat down with a bowl full of them, fried in fat. As they cut dried grass, drag it into their colonies and grow a type of (edible) fungus on the grass, they taste of mushrooms: delicious. Another delicacy is mopane worms, the larva of the Emperor moth. Depending on how one cooks them, they can have different flavours, but tend to be nutty, as do grasshoppers.

  • I feel the fastest and safest way to invest/build wealth is by having a diversified investment. if one investment performs poorIy over a certain period, other investments may perform better over that same period, reducing the potential losses of your investment portfolio from concentrating aII your capital under one type of investment., that's what i do investing in forex/crypto with lisa_upfx 0',n l' g

  • To the animal rights people, I wonder where the line is drawn. Surely it’s different for each of them but from a purely animal rights standpoint (i.e. not economic or environmental) wouldn’t killing bugs be the same as killing cows and chickens or do factors like size, perceived intelligence, etc play a role?

  • I don't know if you noticed. As the wealthy added new Rooms to their palaces, they started propagating small container houses for us. When they buy gold leaf items, they impose on us to use minimal things. Now they offer us a meal of locusts while they eat the huge steaks. We do exactly what they say with excuses such as health and fashion. .

    bambubambu17 hari yang lalu
  • I dont eat bugs, or sea bugs, and I hate fish....so FTS....I'll gladly pay 100$ for a single porkchop. So this is never gonna happen. The only bugs I eat are unintentionally while riding my motorcycle.

  • So, insects transmit very few diseases. Well, it only takes one disease. Example: Bubonic plague from rats to humans by way of the FLEA. I really hope that the flea can not carry anything as bad. O, wait you say there is no manual for harvesting crickets? Let's hope it doesn't go this bad.
