Last year, Americans consumed over 6 billion avocados - leaving behind mounds of inedible pits. Now a company in Mexico created a method to transform avocado waste into “bioplastic” - which breaks down fast and requires less fossil fuels to produce.

  • I still believe we should let go of all the things that are made of plastics. Even if it is made of recycled materials still it is made of plastic and plastics takes a lot of time to vanish from this planet. And I think recycled materials should be much cheaper though I know it has a lot of processing to do but just to balance the cycle of living it is much more appropriate to make a profitable price not cheap nor expensive. I hope that someday recycled materials will be just a free thing. Coz not everyone can afford to make a life living if the world starts changing to use recycled materials..

  • Why not just incorporate it back into soil? Trees drop fruit, the ground expects to be fertilized by said fruit. It has to go back and decompose on the ground. We already have metal straws, this isn't really needed.

It seems like somebody said get out there and start picking up some spoons and pretend to be putting them into packages. I have a feeling that this company actually makes drugs but that they're using these plastic bio products as a cover. Because the workers don't even act like they work there

  • The only reason to introduce bioplastic is to charge ppl more money. Same reason why they forcibly thrusted plastic upon us. I even ask for paper at grocery stores. Offer to pay for the paper grocery bags. Even though paper is fully sustainable, cheaper and 100% recyclable and biodegradable no no... can't have that. For every one tree a paper mill cuts down they must replace it with two. Yet still ppl wilfully ignore this to create their own bs crisis. Life is easy if you want it to be. Simply use paper or wood or glass. That simple.

  • Exactly what all the cartels need. Money from plastics. There are no such thing as drug cartels anymore. Unless you count the cia and dea as cartels. I know I sure do along with the Bolivian government who caught them illegaly shipping drugs and kicked them out. Not to be thwarted though the cia ran a coupe on the president so now they can not only increase the drug trafficking but steal their resources too. LoL They have all went legit into the avocado ac line business.

It's all been planned out months in advance by a universal power which is strong enough to push it, rich enough to finance it, and secretive enough to behind it". National Sunday Law, Read On-line "New Revolution" and the " New Civil War" going on in our nation. Most people don't have a clue who's behind it all. The plan is to destroy AMERICA as we know it, and take it over - ruled by the Beast power and the great Whore in Revelation 19:19-20; Revelation 19:1-2; Rev 19:7

  • This is amazing and i am really proud of it, the only down side is that Avocados Trees use a LOT of water, which is sucking up all the water in Mexico

Jason CartwrightJason Cartwright13 hari yang lalu
    • @The Mind Over Weight Podcast Correct, I can see that and i completely agree with you, this is a great idea to fight our plastic problems, but behind the scenes, like the water in mexico, it has pretty much disappeared, the locals relied on that water that flows through there rivers so they could plant there own crops, but now they can't because of the demand of avocados which is absorbing it all up so we can have our guacamole, our "guac on toast" ect...,now there's this bioplastic (which is a huge step and its great) that comes from the avocado pits like it says, but this means that the demand will go even higher, which means thell plant even more trees... and so on. Its solving one problem but making another even worse, im not trying to be annoying but its true, we'll just have to keep testing until we get it right, we are definitely getting closer

Jason CartwrightJason Cartwright7 hari yang lalu
    • How is that a downside? They're simply using pits that would've been discarded.
