Why Argan Oil Is So Expensive | So Expensive

Argan oil can cost as much as $300 per liter, making it the world’s most expensive edible oil. Just 20 years ago, however, the production of argan oil was isolated to villagers in Morocco, who sold it locally for as little at $3 per liter. But since then, the formation of women-run cooperatives has transformed the production into a billion-dollar industry. With the help of the cooperatives, the traditional skills held by the Amazigh women has created some financial independence in a male-dominated society However, the women normally make less than $220 a month - below Morocco's recommended national minimum wage. So why has argan oil suddenly gained such popularity? And what makes it so expensive?

Why Argan Oil Is So Expensive | So Expensive

  • for everyone here that say the women get pay to little, yes it's true. But please, keep in mind this practice happens also in all agriculture, from tomatoes to potatoes... so if you can, always buy directly from farmers or cooperatives. Always the last ones on the chain are the ones who profit the most.

  • Its only expensive when its coming in. If you go there its cheaper. Issue is the trade stuff when coming over. Like you cant come into the USA without paying taxes on these items. I had liquor and had to pay a tax. Out in Mexico its like 4$ and then in the USA its like 8$ so why not buy it? But u can't drink it until you come home so thats where you get pounded in the ass.

  • Amazing Video. Bitcoin has faced a rather strong resistance after its explosion to the $11,100 highs. At the recent lows, the asset traded as low as $10,300 - around 8% ish below the local highs couple of weeks back. Despite this slight slip and the fact that BTC remains above $14,000, we should all remain bullish on Bitcoin. I think bitcoin could soon move higher to $20,000 in a couple of days. As a crypto trader the past few weeks has recorded immerse benefits all round, my only regret now is not knowing Mr taylor on time, his top notch signals remains the bedrock of the successes recorded in my personal trading portfolio. his trading technics helps me get my profit... i already made $100k with his. investing on cryptocurrencies is now the new source of income for everyone he continues to be an inspiration to all who have been fortunate to have made use of his signals. You all can reach out to him through morgantaylor587@gmail.com or on WhatsApp +1 409 299 3921

  • The people saying they need to be paid more have a point, their being paid less than monthly minimum wage, so before you pop off and say “$200 is enough because if they were paid more...” $200 is less than minimum wage, and minimum wage is $310 a month. I think you are being a little racist don't you think? Different cultures oppress women because its part of their culture. You aren't shitting on other cultures are you? What a bigot, am I right? • Just come across this video November 10th 2020 and I'm really enjoying this.these women have access to some wonderful oil that they obviously don't know how to use on their own bodies and skin because they still have a lot of wrinkles and this oil if used properly on the entire body slows down the wrinkling process by over 65%. It is used constantly in spas and salons and different extravagant dermatology centers.but these people are not being paid they're worth naturally they're dealing with those that believe and utilizing slave labor which is wrong ☠️🥴🤑💯🤬👺👿😏🤷🏼‍♀️🙋🏻‍♀️😎🙃‼️🖤💚💛

  • This is sad for us. My late grandmother thought us how to make Argan oil from scratch it was like our legacy and now they made it into a big international market taking advantage of us in a very horrific way that Zoubida the woman who made the research shame on her she made a fortune out of it meanwhile the poor women have no idea that the oil is sold with a higher price yet let me correct some false informations in this video 1- 300$ per litre? What kind of nonsense is that? I'm originally from the only region in the world where you can find argan trees and I can assure you that Organ oil doesn't cost that much 2- You can not find Argan in the entire Atlas mountains. Argan oil is only found in the Souss region Anti Atlas and some villages between Essaouira and Agadir* (*the capital of Souss region) 3- not all Amazighs used Argan oil only the Chlouhs used it (Chlouhs are Amazighs tribes from Souss) 4- Argan oil wasn't for sell in fact no one knew besides us the importance of the Argan oil each tribe and family had their own trees like a property so everyone made their own oil the moment they started selling it it went skyrocket
